Highlighted Design Team Member

Hi this Kellie I am being "Highlighted" over at Jo's Scrap Shack today as a new feature to get to know members of the Design Team.  I want to tell you a little bit about me before I talk about my project.

I've been scrapbooking since the late 90's in one form or another and met Jo whilst I lived in the USA.  I now live back in Australia working as an Enrolled Nurse and caring for my Dad who suffers from Parkinsons Disease and Dementia. I do still scrapbook occasionally but the majority of my crafting time is now spent card making as part of the Design Team at Jo's Scrap Shack and card swapping with many of my friends in the US.  I love to try new techniques and I'm often found trying to scrub my inky hands clean before flying out the door to work. :D

My project today was made using two of Joann's stamps sets from 3 Twenty Crafts -

I first stamped the small ribbon and the dotted ribbon from Background Builders in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto white cardstock on the diagonal.
My next layer I stamped the same two stamps onto black card with Close To My Heart Vanilla Cream ink.  It looked a little flat to me at that stage so I added the yellow poker dot ribbon to the panel to bring in some colour and texture.
To finish off my card I  stamped a sentiment and the beautiful design element from "Say it from the Heart" onto black card.  I then doodled my stitches with white gel pen around the border and popped it up on the black panel with foam tape.

I was very happy with the result - a quick simple card in the matter of minutes

Thats it for me today.

Have a great week

Nice job on this card Kellie, I love the black border background and I love the polka dot border with the yellow ribbon. Your added sentiment finishes this card off perfectly. Hugs

The yellow dot ribbon definitely popped your other colors. The diagonal design on your background created a great contrast. Very nice way to showcase these stamps. Well done, Kellie. TFS
