This weeks challenge with Joann @ Jo's Scrap Shack was to follow the Mojo Monday Sketch 281 with the addition of two buttons.

I started with black cardstock and stamped the flowers from an old Stampin Up set with Versamark. I then colored over them with perfect pearls. I outlined the flowers with a white gel pen and then fussy cut them out. Then I stamped "Giving it All Meaning" from The Unity Stamp Company in CTMH white daisy ink. To create the background. I then cut out the background slightly smaller than my black card base and inked around the edge.

Then I attached my ribbon from my stash and two small buttons onto my ribbon. I finished it off by arranging my flowers and popping them up at different levels to give some dimension.

Lastly I drew in stitching with my white gel pen.

I plan to enter my card into the Mojo Monday challenge and Unity's Friends with Flair on Friday.

Keep tuned for our next challenge where we are going to be inspired by this month's color inspiration for the February {be inspired} Unity challenge

My next personal challenge with Joann @ Jo's Scrap Shack was to create a card or layout with 2 diff patterns stamped, colored, inked or PP. With the addition of stitches/sewing hand, machine or stamped

So I stamped the image from the Unity stamp set "Happiness is ...." on white card stock and coloured with copic markers. The shirt and shorts were paper pieced. The patterned paper I used was Crate Paper "Notebook" from the Katlin collection. One side was used for the pink background an the piecing of her shorts. The opposite side was used for the shirt piecing and the scallop below the image. I also hand stitched the scallop following the stitch lines on the patterned paper.

My next challenge with Joann @ Jo's Scrap Shack was to create a Valentine Tag.

My tag was made from some leftover background paper from last week, that I created with the wax paper resist technique. On to this I stamped the Kaisercraft "Script" stamp and the image in the bottom right corner is from Close to my Heart's "Live Inspired" stamp set.

I stamped the image "Melinda hugging heart" from Whiff of Joy, onto White card and colored her with Copic Markers.

I used foam tape to attach the cut out image to the tag and I attached some ribbon from my stash.

My next challenge with Joann @ Jo's Scrap Shack was to create an inspirational card using the wax paper resist technique.

I am late in posting as we had some computer glitches here.

I had not used this technique previously so my first attempt didn't work as planned (I used a pigment ink instead of a dye ink) but was still good enough to use in a different project.

Having no gloss card stock for my background I used photo paper. The ink I used was Close to my Heart "Bubblegum". I then inked the edges with my Memento "Tuxedo Black".

I stamped my image & sentiment which arrived in the mail this week from The Unity Stamp Company. It is by illustrator Phyllis Harris, from the set "your wings exist". I colored the image with copics and pieced her dress using a scrap of purple patterned paper.

I matted the sentiment and image using black cardstock, elevating the sentiment using foam tape.

Keep tuned for our next challenge a Valentine tag.
