Our theme for this week"Use your Favourite Technique" has been chosen by my DT sister Candice
My favourite technique at the moment would have to be Paper Piecing. Taking the same image and layering parts for a 3D effect. I'm not sure how much you can see from the photo but the photo below will give you an idea of the different sections I coloured and cut out.
The images were coloured with Copic Markers the image in the top middle became my base. I loosely coloured the surrounding areas with the grey to give another base for the different levels of layers. I used foam tape for my levels but I saw another paper piecing the other day using silicone glue which would be much easier - I might just have to try that.
After all the piecing together I cut out the image edged it with green and layered upon black card. Using 3 other scraps I cut and placed them on a black cardstock card base. I then freehand cross stitched around each layer which really lifted it. I really enjoyed this cute digi "Brad Nailed Zombie" from Limited Runs
I hope you join in with us - Come on get creative.

Wow, you did a lot of work on this spooky little guy. Great coloring, and your X-stitching on all these layers added so very much dimension. Really cute Halloween card. TFS
