Come join us as Joann and her friends celebrate the Third Birthday of Jo's Scrap Shack.  There are some  great goodies to give away.  Just become a follower on each leg of the blog and leave some love.

You should have arrived here from from Snippets of Mendi. If not you can start the hop back at Jo's and follow along - I also have the whole blog line up at the end of this post.

The theme for the hop is "Birthday" and here is my creation.

I created a Birthday gift bag.  I took a piece of 12 x 12 paper and folded it to create my gift bag. No cutting just folding.  Isn't this PP just so happy!!!

My stamp -  "Your Love Blows Me Away" by Phyllis Harris at Unity Stamps was coloured with Copic Markers and then cut out and added to the gift bag.
I lined up the image up so one of the ribbons on the present acts like a bow on the girls head :D

I then added crystal glass to the balloons.

The next stop on the hop is Millie at Crafting with Creative M

Have a great week

This week I created a canvas as a gift for my beautiful niece Alexandra for her baptism. I even get to be Godmother!!! Very exciting.

I covered the canvas in tissue paper which I crinkled a little. I then sprayed it with various inks, sprinkled on some perfect pearls, dripped on some paint and stencilled some chevrons. I also stamped out the Phyllis Harris' stamp Your Wings Exist by Unity Stamp Company. It also just happens to be on sale 50% off 25th-29th April. I then scanned and increased the size of the image by 200%, printed it on cardstock and coloured it with copics.

I added a doily to the top left corner and used liquid pearls for the first time. I love the effect.

I added lace to the base which I had also coloured. The sentiment is stolen from the same stamp set and is from a white alpha that I coloured. I sealed it all and then rubbed some gold kindy glitz over the top to give it all a little sparkle. I am soooo pleased with this canvas.

I then created a card to go with the canvas and used a CTMH flourish stamp to mimic the wind. I plan to enter my card into Unity's Friends with Flair.

My next personal challenge with Joann @ Jo's Scrap Shack was to create a card or layout with 2 diff patterns stamped, colored, inked or PP. With the addition of stitches/sewing hand, machine or stamped

So I stamped the image from the Unity stamp set "Happiness is ...." on white card stock and coloured with copic markers. The shirt and shorts were paper pieced. The patterned paper I used was Crate Paper "Notebook" from the Katlin collection. One side was used for the pink background an the piecing of her shorts. The opposite side was used for the shirt piecing and the scallop below the image. I also hand stitched the scallop following the stitch lines on the patterned paper.

Keep tuned for our next challenge - a sketch with the addition of buttons

My next challenge with Joann @ Jo's Scrap Shack was to create an inspirational card using the wax paper resist technique.

I am late in posting as we had some computer glitches here.

I had not used this technique previously so my first attempt didn't work as planned (I used a pigment ink instead of a dye ink) but was still good enough to use in a different project.

Having no gloss card stock for my background I used photo paper. The ink I used was Close to my Heart "Bubblegum". I then inked the edges with my Memento "Tuxedo Black".

I stamped my image & sentiment which arrived in the mail this week from The Unity Stamp Company. It is by illustrator Phyllis Harris, from the set "your wings exist". I colored the image with copics and pieced her dress using a scrap of purple patterned paper.

I matted the sentiment and image using black cardstock, elevating the sentiment using foam tape.

Keep tuned for our next challenge a Valentine tag.
